We checked in late Friday night after an 7 hour drive that should have only taken 4 hours and when we got up to our room and went inside there were smeared handprints up and down the walls. It was disgusting! I don’t even want to think what was smeared…..gross! We immediately went downstairs to complain and management told us that there was nothing they could do and no other room they could move us to. We were so disgusted that we asked for a refund. Now we are stranded in Vegas without a room at 12:30am. I will NEVER stay at this hotel again and I don’t recommend it at all!!

Third World service and experience

I left home when I was eighteen to join the Army and explore the world. In my 40+ years of adventure I have traveled to 45 states and 28 countries. I have traveled and stayed in Las Vegas for numerous vacations over the years and have to say that my recent stay at Planet Hollywood was by far the most horrible experience that I have ever had; rating right down there with third world countries. The room was dirty when we arrived and despite requesting housekeeping and complaining to management every day of our five dayd stay, we only had a person that did a quick job one time during our entire trip. We couldn't even get clean towels. The phone system can be described as nothing short of an example of "build back better". When someone uses the phone in their room the call goes off site to a third-party answering service who takes a message to relay back to the various offices within the hotel itself. For example, if a customer pushes the house keeping button on the phone in their room, the call is answered by an external call center who listens to your issue and takes a message to relay back to the hotel staff, but they are not able to resolve any problems or even tell you when to expect the issue to be resolved. I'm sure that many experienced travelers would do as I did and ask to speak with a manager. The answering service does NOT have access to or the ability to connect you with a manager! So, I went to the front desk and asked for a manager. The front desk clerks are trained to run interference and will ask you if they can help. I responded "yes, you can get the manager for me", after an extended period a young man appearing to be in his mid-twenties emerged from a back office with an attitude as though I interrupted his video game. He did not introduce himself and when I asked if he was the hotel manager he just said, "what is the problem?" When I asked his name, he repeated "what is the problem?" and would not give his name. I explained that the room was dirty and that I expected the room to be cleaned and that I expected it to be cleaned daily with fresh towels. He just stared at me and when I asked him what he was going to do about it, I was astonished that he said that he would send a memo to housekeeping and he walked back to his office in the back leaving me there with no resolution regarding my complaint. This process went on every day of my stay. The second day I called the offsite call center and left a message to speak to the house keeping management. I received a call back from a lady stating that she was one of the managers from housekeeping. I explained the situation and my dissatisfaction with the service and the hotel in general. After a couple of hours, a young woman arrived from housekeeping. We showed her the problems and she apologized repeatedly. She said that the room should have been cleaned by the morning crew and could not believe the condition it was in. We left the room so she could clean and returned several hours later. The room was much improved but still not what I would expect from a so called 4 Star hotel. We were in total disbelief when we found an apologetic note written on a toilet paper wrapper from the cleaner. (Photo attached). The next day we departed early in the morning and returned late in the evening. Once again, the room had not been cleaned so I went back to the front desk and asked to speak with the manager. This time I had a young woman that I would guess to be in her mid-twenties present herself as the manager. Upon request she provided me with her first name but would not give her last. She said that unfortunately because of the hour, she would not be able to do anything. After I showed her and the desk clerks the classy toilet paper wrapper letter that I had received the manager looked at the notes in my record on her computer and said that since I have been having problems for the past three days, she would "comp" me for three days of my stay. I dressed them all down and expressed my frustration and dissatisfaction. The following evening, we returned once again to an uncleaned room, and I once again proceeded to the front desk to speak with the manager. This time I once again met with the same young man that didn't give his name in our previous encounter. This time he told me that his name was Bryan with a "y" but would not provide me with his last name. He didn't think I had a right to be upset but said that he would "comp" me for another day. I assumed that when someone says that they are going to comp you for a day that means that you don't have to pay for that day. So I asked for clarification; stating that my hotel stay was roughly $1500 and if I was being comped for four days then I was expecting to pay $300 with $1200 being refunded (which I thought was appropriate), however he said that they would comp me for the house cleaning services for four days which would be a little over $100 off. I said no way. That was not acceptable to me. He said ok. I won't comp you at all. We had a horrible experience, and the managers did nothing to fix the problems or offer any support or suitable compensation. I have spoken with my credit card company and will be disputing the charge as we didn't get what we paid for. Anyone thinking of staying here should be advised to seek another place to stay.

Enjoyable Stay with Room for Improvement

Overall, my stay at Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino was quite enjoyable. The location is fantastic, and the casino, spa, and Miracle Mile Shops provided plenty of entertainment options. However, there were a few areas that could use improvement. While we paid for an upgraded fountain view, the room was smaller than expected. Additionally, the housekeeping staff's inconsistency was frustrating, as they came at different times throughout the day. We also encountered issues such as crumbs left behind from previous guests under the couch. Unfortunately, my makeup compact was broken by the housekeeping staff, resulting in shattered face powder. Despite these drawbacks, the positives of the location and amenities outweighed the negatives, earning Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino a solid four-star rating. It's worth noting that there was no apology or acknowledgment for the damaged makeup, which was disappointing.
